Here are some fun EuroDisney Facts
With over 20 million visitors yearly, Eurodisney can clearly be described as the most visited attraction in Europe. But come
to think of it, what really makes Eurodisney such a favourite for European holiday-makers and lots of other fun-seekers across the globe?
If you have ever pondered this question as I did several times, then you are at the right place for receiving answers.
General Facts and Attractions.
Eurodisney is a Walt Disney business established in Marne-la-Vallee, a new town inside the commune of Chessy in Seine-et-Marnein in the east bounds of Paris, France. Despite
initial trouble surrounding it, EuroDisney, also called Disneyland Resort Paris by some folks, sitting on over 5000 acres of land mass, was
opened for business fully in 1992.
Euro Disney contains two theme-park deliberately modelled to American style and seven hotels(which included, the Disneyland
Hotel, Hotel New York, Newport Bay Club, Sequoia Lodge, Hotel Cheyenne, Hotel Santa Fe and Davy Crockett Ranch.), all owned by the parent
Disney business. There is also the Disney village which serves as an entertainment district to visitors and holiday makers. Disney Village
contains restaurants, shops and Buffalo Bill's Wild West Dinner Show, not to mention the nine-hole and 18-hole golf courses for the game's
fans.
With the food which are served at the resort and theme-park dining and every other thing ranging from the hotel
to even the park attendants(who were required to speak English at all meetings) generally following American tradition, many French
citizens were resistant to the Idea of a Disney theme park within its borders during the early years. The idea was generally viewed by many
as consumerist, tacky and perhaps even imperialist. These compounding controversies as expected had its consequences. The park reported
huge losses for its first three years mainly due to poor attendance, ride malfunctions, and employee dissatisfaction and turnover.
If you are a first time traveller to Disneyland Paris, here is a guide for you.
When you arrive at Paris, Eurodisney is a 40 minutes train-journey which takes you directly to the place, i.e. of course, if
you take the RER A-4 line (destination Marne La Vallee-Chessy, which is the final stop). You have to buy the ticket at any RER or metro
station and this ticket offers you a pass for the rest of the day's journey(which may include Metro, Bus, Tram and Funicular within Paris)
at no additional cost.
Or you can travel directly into the Park using the Eurostar Disney Train Service.
Passes may be obtained at visitor information centres and RER ticket offices so you don't have any need of booking for your
next Eurodisney holidays ahead of time. This helps eliminate the possibility of joining long queues after visitors arrive at the
park.
Entry tickets for a day is approx 48 and 41 UK pounds for adults and children (between the ages of three and eleven),
respectively. The ticket pass allows for an unrestricted access to either Walt Disney Studios or Disneyland Park. Majority of holiday
makers usually choose the park ( Please note these prices can change)
Finally, with the current trend and love for Disneyland Paris, partly owing to its relative affordability for
most average families and fun holiday choices, it's no surprise that the park will still continue to be as trendy as ever.
